Sophie C. Orzechowski, Ph.D.

Welcome! My research encompasses the fields of wildlife conservation, ecology, organismal biology, and evolutionary biology. I think of myself as a biological detective who leverages an extensive toolkit, including molecular and 'omic tools, to understand the natural world and—in particular—help conserve it. I earned my BS in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 2012, my MS in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida in 2018, and my PhD in Organismal and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University in May 2025.
