Red on the radar

There's a reason we keep close watch on the weather in South Florida during the wading bird breeding season. Getting caught in a thunderstorm in a metal-hulled airboat is very much to be avoided. Here's a storm that forced some colleagues to take refuge on a tree island for six hours. Their boat was stuck, and we had the exciting task of rescuing them! But they were very resourceful, and actually got free without our help :)
